About HSCA

Him Science Congress Association (HSCA) has been constituted with the thought of ‘Promoting Excellence in Sciences’ particularly in Himachal Pradesh. Him Science Congress Association has completed its 12 eventful years. The aim of HSCA is to bring the pioneers of various scientific fields together to enlighten and motivate young scholars. Association is committed for promotion and cultivation of Scientific culture in the state. The HSCA has sponsored Children Science Congress organized by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Himachal Pradesh, organized series of Skill Development and Motivational lectures for the school children in rural part of Himachal Pradesh. HSCA has more than 500 life members contributing for the promotion of science in the state. HSCA has organized series of National and International Conferences in the past. Previous conferences were held at Shoolini University (Solan), Himalayan Forest Research Institute (Shimla), Vallabh Govt College (Mandi), Hotel Inclover (Dharamshala), Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering, and Allied Sports (Manali), NIT Hamirpur, e-conference in 2021, SPU, Mandi in 2022 and Hotel Dalhousie in 2023. These conferences were sponsored by various funding agencies such as DST, DRDO, ISRO, BRNS, SJVN and Himachal Tourism etc. In addition to this HSCA has adopted and supported 3 schools in remote part of Himachal Pradesh.

About GOVT COLLEGE BILASPUR HIMACHAL PRADESH

Govt College Bilaspur is one of the oldest and amongst the most prestigious colleges of Himachal Pradesh, Established in 1952. It has remained instrumental in providing quality education to the people of the town and adjoining areas. Nestled below the imposing Bandla hills on the left bank of the world famous Gobind Sagar Lake, college campus presents ideal surroundings for scholarly pursuits. Over the past sixty years the college has established a glorious record of academic excellence and has made remarkable achievements in various fields such as sports, cultural & extracurricular activities. The college is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University and has been accredited B grade by NAAC. It is a matter of pride that H.P. University has notified this college as one of the five best colleges amongst more than hundred colleges of state affiliated to it. It has the honour to be designated as the ‘Star College in Life Sciences’ by UGC.

About Bilaspur

Bilaspur is a district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Its capital is in the town of Bilaspur. The district has an area of 1,167 km2, and a population of 381,956. As of 2011 it is the third least populous district of Himachal Pradesh (out of 12), after Lahul and Spiti and Kinnaur. The district has the famous Govind Sagar Lake on the Sutlej river which acts as the reservoir for the Bhakra and Nangal Dam Project. Bilaspur experiences warm summers and cool winters but is protected from the temperature extremes of the surrounding mountains by its situation in a valley. The monsoon, from July to September, is a period of high rainfall. From October to November, the lake is completely full. The highest temperature months are May and June when the temperature is typically around 37 °C (99 °F) and 38 °C (100 °F), sometimes exceeding 40 °C (104 °F).

Transportation

Buses are the only mode of public transport to the district and run from all major towns within the state as well as from those outside it. Bilaspur lies on the Chandigarh–Manali NH-21 highway. It is 86 km away from Shimla, the state capital, and 405 km from Delhi. The nearest major airport with daily scheduled flights from major cities is in Chandigarh, which is 141 km . Manali, a major tourist attraction in Himachal Pradesh, is located 195 km from Bilaspur. Mandi, 70 km (43 mi) away, contains the Zonal headquarters of the district. Most of the long route buses that service Bilaspur are run by the state owned HRTC; local routes are operated by private bus operators.

AIIMS Bilaspur: All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur (AIIMS Bilaspur) is an Indian public medical school, hospital
and an Institute of National importance in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the All India Institutes of Medical
Sciences (AIIMSs).
Naina Devi Temple: The Temple of Shri Naina Devi Ji is situated on a hilltop in Bilaspur. The temple is connected with National
Highway No. 21. The temple at the top of the hill can be reached via road (that curves round the hill up to a certain point) and
then by concrete steps (that finally reach the top).
Gobind Sagar: A reservoir that was formed by the Bhakra Dam.

This is the 11 conference in the series on a theme ‘Science’ organized by Him Science Congress Association, Himachal Pradesh, India. This conference is being organized at Govt College Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. This Platform provide opportunities for the delegates to exchange new research ideas, applications, research experiences, establish business or research relations and to find global partners for future collaboration. We invite abstracts with 200-300 words relevant to theme and scope of the conference.

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

The abstract of research work is invited for presentation in 11 International Conference of HSCA. Abstract should not be more than 300 words containing title, name of author, affiliation/Institution’s name followed by email id, keywords. Name of presenting author should be bold. Last date for Abstract submission is 10th October, 2024. 

Authors have to submit their abstract in the desired format through Google Form

          During the second day the conference, project display will be scheduled. Interested students from Distt. Bilaspur may display their working science projects between 11:00am to 2:00 pm on 16th November,2024.

          1. Class 11&12th Students
          2. Students with ID cards issued from school or participation letters duly signed by the Principal of the school.
          3. Projects should be innovative and working

          CHOFFLA AWARDS OF SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP*
          Detailed Instructions
          The Him Science Congress Association (HSCA), Himachal Pradesh, is pleased to announce the introduction of two Science
          Scholarships starting from 2024 onwards. These scholarships aim to inspire and support meritorious students from
          economically weaker section of the society to pursue careers in science. HSCA firmly believes that this initiative will
          significantly impact the lives of aspiring students and contribute to the educational landscape of the region, fostering both academic excellence and future aspirations.
          These scholarships are generously sponsored by Valley Agro Foods, Chamba (Himachal Pradesh), an esteemed Industrial Life
          Member of HSCA. Below are the details of the scholarships:
          1. Names of the Scholarships
          A. Late Shri Kuldeep Chand Chowfla Science Scholarship (KCCSS)
          B. Late Shrimati Kushal Chowfla Science Scholarship (KCSS)
          2. Nature of the Scholarships
          Each scholarship will consist of a one-time cash prize of INR 11,000 (eleven thousand rupees) each. Additionally,
          awardees will receive a life membership card of the association along with two cheques:
          The first cheque, worth Rs 10,000/-, will be issued in the awardee’s name.
          The second cheque, worth Rs 1,000/-, will be issued in the name of HSCA to cover the life-time membership fees for the awardees.
          3. Eligibility Criteria
          Eligible candidates must be meritorious students class 12th (Medical and Non-Medical) from the district where the
          international conference of HSCA is scheduled for that particular year.
          Applicants should belong to the economically weaker sections of society (should carry a certificate from the competent
          authority) and must have opted for science as a career at the B.Sc. (Medical and Non-Medical) first-year level.
          The list of eligible students for all colleges of district will be obtained from the office of the Director of Higher
          Education/Principal.
          4. Felicitation
          The scholarship cheques will be presented to the awardees in person during the Inaugural function of the international
          science conference i.e 16th November, 2024.

GUIDELINES FOR YOUNG SCIENTIST/YOUNG RESEARCHER AWARD

  1. Applicants must be the life member of HSCA.
  2. The participant below 40 years of age are eligible for Young Scientist Award.
  3. The participant below 35 years of age are eligible for Young Researcher Award.
  4. A Young Scientist/Researcher can present only one paper in any one section.
  5. Full length paper will be evaluated by the experts and the selected Young Scientist/Researcher (max. of six) in each section
    will be invited to make oral presentation of their paper during 9th International Him Science Congress Association.
  6. The last date for receiving full length paper for young scientist/researcher award is September 30th, 2024 on the
    e-mail : 2024hsca@gmail.com.
  7. The final selection for the award will be made by a duly constituted committee (50% on the CV basis and remaining 50% on
    the basis of performance of the candidate during oral presentation) and the award will be given during the valedictory
    ceremony.
